An exciting week of workshops and activities lead by artists in residence Linda Hasking and Andy Fleming.

Pupils from Year 10 will be exploring the theme of 'Collect, Select, Develop'
gathering images from the built environment of the school, both interior and exterior.

They will have the opportunity to try digital photography, experiment with image software and learn about more traditional photography techniques and the language of photography; view point, composition, storyboarding and narrative...

Work produced with our artists in residence will eventually be displayed in the new school when it opens in 2007.

Architecture Week 2006

As part of Architecture Week 2006 we have organised a day of free workshops for young people, families and children in Basingstoke. Join the People of Popley as they conjure up new visions for their local landscape through digital photographs, workshops and fantastical constructions.

Designs on Popley Fields

Popley Fields Community Centre, Popley, 2006

Monday 15th May, 8pm -10pm, Help us design the murals
Wednesday 31st May & Thursday 1st June, 10am - 4pm, Help to paint the murals

Put your artisitic skills to the test and get involved in the design and painting of murals at the Popley Fields Community Centre. These workshops are open to all aged 14-19 and living in Popley, Basingstoke. Professional mural artist James Gallagher will be on hand to demonstrate how to transfer ideas to large scale mural designs, and how to apply various techniques and materials.

We are seeking an experienced Finance and Administration Officer to join our small but busy team. Reporting to the Business & Marketing Manager the Finance & Admin Officer will help administer the Making’s contracts, income and expenditure, monitor the progress of externally funded projects, help update the website, database and filing systems, and provide support to the Director and wider project team.

The Making @ Popley Festival 2006

Over 10,000 people visited the festival in 2005, and we're hoping even more will visit in 2006 to make it bigger, and better than ever. On The Making stall this year we will be joined by artists Sue Riley and Ruth Singer, who will be showing you how to create fashion accessories and clothes from recycled materials.

Family Creative Arts: Fashion & Textiles Short Course

Saturdays in April and May 2006

A short five week course for fashion enthusiasts. This course has been designed for families (parents and children aged 7-13 years) who are interested in learning together about fashion and textile design. A selection of the best work from the course will be modelled at the Popley Festival May 2006.
